Rebekka Kricheldorf

Playwright Rebekka Kricheldorf was in residence from September through Decemeber 2017, during which time she worked on "Das Haus auf Monkey Island", a new science play which premiered at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater in 2019 and was presented in Berlin at the "Authorentage" in the same year.

Berlin playwright Rebekka Kricheldorf has recently published her first novel, Lustprinzip. Previously, Rebekka has written plays for several prestigious theaters throughout Germany, among them the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Theater am Neumarkt Zürich, the Staatstheater Kassel and the Deutsches Theater Berlin. Three of her plays so far earned her an invitation to the Mülheimer Theatertage, in the years 2005, 2014 and 2018, as well as an invitation to the Göttinger Dramatiker-Werkstatt in 2001. Rebekka has been awarded the “Autorenpreis der deutschsprachigen Theaterverlage“ for her work Prinzessin Nicoletta (2002) , the Kleist-Förderpreis for the play Kriegerfleisch (2003), and the Kasseler Literaturpreis (2010).
